Stuff's a-growin' in the garden! Here's are pics as of yesterday (before the rain came today!):
Some of the 35 strawberry plants. We just harvested our first 3 strawberries. (see the pic from the previous post. I could barely get my camera to load before Jett devoured them.) Should I plant some additional strawberries soon? Yes!
Top left square corn is popping up. Bottom right square is a small zucchini plant. You can't see here, but a few other corn plants have broken through the soil as well.
Bell Pepper plants along the back are slow growing. The Bok Choy is ready to start harvesting outside leaves! The beet plants, 2nd row from back, 2 squares on right are getting bigger.
Lettuce, spinach & mesculine are getting a bit bigger. Some of the seeds haven't sprouted, so I'll put a few more in the garden in the next few days.
Tomato plants. They aren't producing yet, but are showing signs. Lots of buds. Time to plant a few more in the garden.
Carrots are getting bigger. They seem to like this 1/2 barrel.
Potato's are popping up and growing nicely. These are also in a 1/2 barrel.
On the second tier of my garden no SFG's, these are all planted in beds right in the ground. Here are the onion plants. Look closely and you'll also see potato's leaves poking through this bed along the right.
Also, on the 2nd tier I've planted a bed of carrots. If you look VERY closely you'll see that I have more carrots planted here. They just broke through the ground this week.
And, on the 3rd tier - my bed of dirt! Actually, I just planted mesculin & kale seeds here. This area of the garden gets more shade, so I'm trying leafy greens to see how they do with 3-4 hours of sun. The shadow you see along the left side of the bed is cast from a bush on the outside of my fence. I've requested the HOA to either remove the bush entirely or at least trim it down.
